Neighborhood Watch and Safety

Neighborhood Watch

Are you or your neighbors interested in establishing a Neighborhood Watch program? Would you like to be on the email blast to be notified when something suspicious or potentially hazardous occurs in your vicinity or the village proper? Maybe you live off-island, and would like to know if your property is at risk. Download the Neighborhood Watch participant form (and a list of important Hotline numbers)

Island-Wide Community Safety

Visit www.solutionsislandhawaii.com for information concerning:

South Kohala Traffic Safety Meeting

The South Kohala Traffic Safety Committee meets at 4:00 p.m. on the 2nd Tuesday of every month in Waimea. The public is invited to attend and speak. For more information, visit South Kohala Traffic Safety Committee under Organizations.

Kuleana Hotline

The Hawai'i Police Department has launched a new tool the community can use to help keep our island safe. It's called the "Kuleana Hotline." The Kuleana Hotline is designed to prevent tragic events in public places, including schools, restaurants and other locations where members of our community gather. Unlike Crime Stoppers, to which citizens may report information about a specific crime, the Kuleana Hotline is an avenue for reporting something that may not be criminal yet but has the potential to turn disastrous if not prevented. For more information, visit http://www.waikoloa.org/talkstory/viewtopic.php?t=2005&highlight=kuleana

Monthly South Kohala Neighborhood Watch News

Officer Kristi A. Crivello provides a monthly "South Kohala Neighborhood Watch News" newsletter that appears on the WVA website: see example
